Saleh emerges President Federation of Tourism Associations

Malam Rabo Saleh has emerged the new President of the Federation of Tourism Association of Nigeria (FTAN) and would pilot the affairs for the association for the next two years. He replaces Chief Tomi Akingbogun, a tourism and hospitality expert, whose tenure ended after serving two terms.

Saleh emerged unopposed through voice vote in an election conducted by Dr Chike Ezeudeh during the 20th Annual General Meeting of the association held in Abuja on Friday. Others elected include Mr Nkereuwem Onung, First Deputy President; Chief Abiodun Odunsanwo, Second Deputy President; Mr Badaki Aliyu, Vice President, FCT; Mr Otunba Ayo Olumoko, Vice President, South West and Mrs Ngozi Ngoka, Vice President, South East. The rest are Mr John Adzer, Vice President, North Central; Alhaji Nura Kangiwa, Vice President, North West and Mr Eugene Nwauzi, Vice President, South South, as well as Mrs Suzanne Akporiaye, Treasurer and Mr Stephen Adebayo-Ajayi , Internal Auditor. Others include Mrs Ime Udo, Mr John-Likita Best and Mr Emeka Anokwuru as Membership Secretaries, while Mr Okorie Uguru and Mr Joesef Karim emerged as Publicity Secretary I and II respectively. In his acceptance speech, Saleh appreciated members of the association for their support and promised to do everything humanly possible to move the association forward. “We plead with every one of us to lend your supporting hands even as you constructively criticise us; we won’t take it personal; believe me, we are here to serve you. “This is a tough job, but we can only make a success of it, if all FTAN families give their individual support and assistance. “We would operate a transparent and equal opportunity administrative system; we shall be open and accountable to you and every FTAN member,” Saleh said. Nesmenreport that Saleh, a former Deputy President of FTAN, is also President National Association of Nigerian Travels Agency (NANTA), Abuja Chapter.
