50 days after the death King Bhumibol Adulyadej, Thailand has named Crown Prince Maha Vajiralongkorn as their King after he accepted a formal invitation from the Parliament. 64-year-old King Vajiralongkorn becomes the 10th monarch of the Chakri dynasty.
His father, King Bhumibol, the world’s longest-reigning monarch, died on 13 October and the Crown Prince initially said he would need some time to mourn his father.
