It is unsurprising that English Premier League (EPL) leaders Chelsea have 2 of their players in November’s edition of the EA Sports Player of the Month.
Diego Costa and Pedro were included in the 6-man nomination list
The Blues have been superb in both front of goal and defence throughout their November campaign, scoring 8 goals and conceding just one.
Costa’s two goals and two assists in 3 games helped Chelsea to extend their unbeaten run to 7 games.
Pedro who seems revitalised under Antonio Conte also scored twice, including the crucial goal before half-time that started the fightback against Tottenham Hotspur.
Others nominated are Sergio Aguero of Manchester City, Zlatan Ibrahimovic of Manchester United, Matt Phillips of West Bromwich Albion, and Sunderland goalkeeper Jordan Pickford.
Aguero in November scored a total of 3 goals. The Argentinian’s 2 goals at Burnley helped turn the match around. He is the joint-leading scorer with Costa in the league.
Sweden’s greatest sportsman, Ibrahimovic, played twice but scored three goals – his two goals against Swansea City, and the equaliser at home to West Ham.
Matt Phillips also had a stellar month by scoring twice and setting up three other goals for The Baggies. He scored and assisted in each of the wins against Leicester City and Burnley and provided the assist for the goal at Hull City.
Pickford made key saves for Sunderland in their first Premier League win of the season. He repeated the heroics in the following match the Black Cats won at home against Hull.
