NDDF unveils new theme song

Organisers of the Niger Delta Development Forum (NDDF), the Foundation for Partnership Initiatives in the Niger Delta (PIND), in collaboration with Niger Delta Development Initiative (NDPI), the Imo State Government and DFID funded Market Development for the Niger Delta (MADE), launched a new theme song at the 2016 forum which held in Owerri, Imo State on October 19 and 20, 2016.

The theme song titled "It's About You, It's About Me" composed and produced by Nollywood’s Mike Nliam, was formally adopted at the forum. On why he composed the song with such moving lyrics, Nliam said he visited the NDDF and PIND websites and was touched by the amount of work they had done in the Niger Delta area.

He added that he got emotional when he saw their peace initiative efforts and within 30 minutes of being on the site, he got the inspiration for the song and he hit the studio to put together. ‘This is part of my contribution to my motherland’ he concluded.

In appreciation of his contribution, the Executive Director of PIND, Sam Daibo said ‘it is exciting to see Mike come up with a track for Niger Delta at no cost. So many artists are doing a lot to support the area, but we need more like minded people to come forward and also make their own contributions towards showcasing a re-imagined Niger Delta’.
